As RWN looks to the future, there are challenges that must be overcome and which require every possible support. The Network came up with a five-year (2001-2005) strategic plan in a step to refocus its mandate, outline future direction, indicate resource base needed and ensure continuous improvement. The ultimate aim will be to reach more people more effectively. Specifically, the RWN will be looking forward to the following: . |
- Replication of
the Polyclinic of Hope model in other parts of Rwanda and the region
in post conflict countries. This will include training of core holistic
counseling peers using the model.
- Using SGBV survivors
as advocates of human rights of women, thereby moving as many as possible
from the status of victim to advocate. This will include integrated
holistic training of core trainers of SGBV service providers at central,
regional district and commune levels, and SGBV IEC materials production
and dissemination.
|
 |
- Continue to promote
economic empowerment and human rights and legal awareness among the
women
- Strengthen the
coordination and networking as a way to build solidarity and confidence
among the women on the ground
- Enhancing Survivors
Empowerment and Outreach Support Services by employing use of IEC materials
and other strategies in sexual and reproductive health, social, economic
and legal counseling.
- Mobilize, sensitize
and empower the Rwandan society to demystify myths, negative attitudes
and unclarities associated with sexual and gender-based violence against
women and help men and women at all levels of society to gain skills
that will help them prevent sexual and gender-based violence.
- Generate and
support collaborative ventures in Rwanda for responding to sexual and
gender-based violence against women..
|
In order
to accomplish the above, we require support from our well wishers so that
they may become a reality in changing the lives of communities in Rwanda. .
